Baltic, situated on the corner of The Cut and Blackfriars Rd (opposite Southwark tube & 5 minutes from Waterloo), is in walking distance from the Tate Modern & the South Bank: This venture brings together Jan Woroniecki of Wodka, Veronique Fumey of Soho House, Max Warner and Nick Pound (Head Chef)
A late eighteenth century frontage conceals an eccentric space that London does so well. A modest entrance gradually expands out into a large single storey structure with 40ft wooden trussed ceilings, skylights and galleries. (The building was originally a coachbuilder’s). Seth Stein Architects, in charge of the building and design works, implemented a scheme that compliments the natural beauty of the building with an understated and relaxed interior.
The Restaurant of 100 plus covers specialises in Eastern European Cuisine, taking advantage of the diversity that extends from the Baltic to the Adriatic. The menu is moderately priced (£9-£13 main courses).
The bar operates semi-independently to the Restaurant with an extensive menu: Offering blinis, seafood, salt beef, potato pancakes, great soups and charcuterie. Together with the normal bar fare we specialise in vodkas, especially our range of ‘Baltic Vodkas’ (32 flavours). There is seating for 50 and standing room for double that.
A private room, overlooking the main restaurant is available. Set on a mezzanine level, it can accommodate up to 40 for dinner, lunch, corporate bookings, screenings & Christmas parties.
The autumn season brings live Jazz to Baltic every Sunday & alternate week days.
