Surrounded by the exuberance of London’s theatre-land lies Café des Amis. Offering the very best and seasonal French cuisine for over 25 years it combines intimacy, class, sophistication, together with warm and welcoming service. Café des Amis is one of Covent Garden’s most popular restaurants. Newly appointed French Executive Chef Fabrice Renou trained at La Tour d’Argent and worked at famous Parisian spots, such as Buddha Bar, l’Avenue and Dedans Dehors.
Fabrice’s innovative cuisine combines French traditions with world food, to create seasonal dishes emphasising quality and simplicity.
Café Des Amis is perfect for business lunches, romantic dinners, pre or post theatre meals or a leisurely catch up with friends, providing fantastic French food at very affordable prices.
Whatever the occasion, for a touch of authenticity, Café des Amis has been and continues to be a dining experience with a French pulse beating in the heart of central London.
During the day the restaurant is popular with local business executives brushing shoulders with matinee goers and shoppers. In the evening it lights up with theatre and opera goers ‘dressed up to the nines’ or a romantic 'diner à deux'.
Executive Chef Fabrice Renou uses the best, French and international ingredients paralleled with a unique original interpretation of traditional French menu and beyond to create inspiring and mouth watering dishes.
His ability to mix world food to classical recipes is reflected in its black tiger prawns tempura, pepper antipasti which could easily be followed by pan-fried fillet of red mullet “petite semoule” for an exclusive combination of Mediterranean, Asian and oriental flavours.
Fabrice also revisits traditional French duck recipes with rolled pressed duck breast, foie gras, artichoke, hazelnuts and truffle dressing or roast duck breast, honey and soy sauce, red cabbage fondue with pancetta and granny smith.
There is also plenty of choice for vegetarians and ladies 'who dine', but who can resist the soupe au chocolate with black pepper icecream? – to die for …. or with…!
Café des Amis restaurant open: Monday to Saturday from 12noon to 1am (last order 11.30pm) Open for lunch on Sundays in November and December.
