Colourful gardens, a splendid pool, secluded and welcoming terraces, halls with marked character for having a drink, and large dining-rooms for special celebrations are some of the facilities enjoyed by the guests of Mas Pau. Close to the restaurant are the 20 enchanting suite-type bedrooms which offer all the comforts of a modern hotel.

THE RESTAURANT

Xavi, Toni, Juli and Ferran took over the restaurant in 1994, and since then they have worked to culminate the ideal of creating a new Catalan cuisine, based on the products and seeking a modern, avant-garde style without altering the essence and the conception of the dish to be prepared.
At Mas Pau we have various dining-rooms and terraces, all decorated with antiques which have belonged to the various generations who have passed through the house.
We also have various private rooms for groups from 10 to 200 persons.

DISHES

Our menu is marked from the beginning by a constant approximation to Empordanese cooking through the most characteristic and distinctive products of the district, but viewed from an enormously personal and imaginative perspective. The finest vegetables from the market of Figueres, the freshest fish from the bay of Roses, the most delicate wild mushrooms, the ducks and chickens of the region, are all subjected to Xavier's culinary alchemy, which transforms them into genuine masterly formulas without losing their identity at any time.

A few examples are the sumptuous timbale of artichokes with foie gras flan and wild mushroom peels in port, the curious Russian tuna steak with tomato compote and onion rings, or the boned loin of rabbit with crispy pig's trotters. Excellent desserts of surprising modern design. A seasonal menu which changes four times a year, and gastronomic menus which change every day, make up the selection which we offer for your delectation.

The wine menu denotes having being drawn up by a true lover of the world of wine. Presented and commented by Toni Gerez, it consists of several pages which offer the very finest wines in an interesting tour of Spain's winemaking regions.
