Upmarket restaurant in the contemporary Indian style – slate floors, lush burgundy walls, trickling water, low silk-covered banquettes near the bar and a section of the dining room with low tables and chair-backs for sitting on the floor. Yatra means journey in Sanskrit and the menu goes from classical – roganjosh and butter chicken – to Anglo-Indian (Country Captain and Railway Lamb) to contemporary with warm grilled beef salad with rocket, garlic flakes, quails eggs and lemon/tamarind vinaigrette. There’s a Bollywood theme bar downstairs. Well-chosen wines, good cocktails, great service.

Chicken mince flavored with galangal, kaffir lime moulded on crab claw, grilled and served with sweet chilli sauce

Yatra Salad
A grilled parmesan tower, served with salad tossed in a special Yatra dressing with Paneer Tikka
