Recent winner of the Carlton restaurant of the year award - Zaika situated in what one could say the more relaxed part of the Fulham Road is a treasure trove waiting to be explored. It has been the breeding ground of numerous talented chefs. With the collaboration of restaurateur Claudio Pulze and Indian chef Vineet Bhatia the restaurant has become a runaway sucess. Don't be fooled into thinking that Indian cuisine is the only path they are pursuing they have a group of restaurants the sister restaurants being IL Forno in Frith St Soho and Al Duca which specialises in modern Italian cuisine. It must be said and is a known fact throughout the restaurant scene that Vineet Bhatia is one of the top Indian chef in the UK and that his style of cooking is unique.
Do try Dahi Nariyal Shorba which is coconut, yoghurt soup flavoured with mustard seeds and curry leaf butter, served with crispy prawn or alternatively Koh E Roganjosh a classic Kashmiri lamb dish cooked in a rich onion dish. For dessert try out the Pista Kulfi Indian ice cream.
