Indian Zing
A year after Indian Zing opened its doors to a flood of critical plaudits and hugely positive public support, the restaurant is not only riding high on its distinctive and modern north Indian menu, chef-patron Manoj Vasaikar has also introduced special Indian-style summer salads and ‘coolers’ – or fruit cocktails to you and I. Not that the a la carte doesn’t already boast a personality. There’s scallops with rocket and new potatoes or even green peppercorn malai chicken tikka, or for mains, one of the best lamb shanks in town with gorgeously thick and flavoursome sauce with poppy seeds. But take a gander at the salads and you might just be tempted by the likes of jumbo prawn with pomegranate and avocado or even chicken with pineapple, beans and steam rice cake. Coolers include such thirst-quenchers as cucumber with mint and melon. Definitely a local restaurant that’s well up to par as a destination restaurant.
